CHANGING GIRLS’ LIVES AND LEADING THEM TOWARDS A MORE CHRIST-CENTERED LIFE
American Heritage Girls (AHG) was founded by a group of parents wanting a faith-based, scout-type character development program for their daughters in 1995. The AHG Program is dedicated to building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. AHG across the nation and the globe participate in badge programs, service projects, leadership opportunities, and outdoor experiences, all with an emphasis on Christian values and family involvement.
American Heritage Girls AR1815 is a charter troop established on August 24, 2018 and currently host girls ages 5-18. Meetings occur most Mondays during the school year from 6:00-7:30p just off of Fayetteville's interstate. Our activities have included bonfires, hikes, cookouts, camping, parades, and fundraisers. We offer various learning events including: fire safety chats, cake decorating, basket weaving, auto mechanics, rock climbing, etc. We participate in numerous service activities within our community including; laying/retrieving wreaths at our local national cemetery, making blankets for at risk children, collecting donations for Ronald McDonald house and military service members, and creating/assembling gift baskets for women's and children's shelters. We have conducted CPR/First Aid Certification for our older girls and leaders, which we were able to provide at no cost to our members, thanks to a grant we received from BCBS.
Today there are Troops in every state and 15 countries around the world through the Trailblazer Program. There are thousands of volunteer members across the country, helping girls grow in their faith, cultivating a heart for service, enjoying the great outdoors, and having more fun than they can imagine!
